History - Sims Healing Arts began as Reiki by Jasmine in 2017. Over the years the vision of the business expanded, my son Amos Sims IV joined the practice in 2020, and we felt the name change best encompassed where we were headed. Our ultimate goal is to build a family business where each member can contribute according to their gifts and talents. In the future we hope to provide many different alternative holistic healing modalities such as massage, accupuncture, cupping, aromatherapy, sound therapy, yoga, meditation etc. in our own space.
Our current objective in the community is to bring Reiki to clients who may not otherwise experience it. This includes training Reiki practitioners that are Black, Indigenous and People of Color, to expand Reiki’s reach and provide more opportunities for people to recieve Reiki in a safe and comfortable space for them.

I’m a working family man with a partner and 4 children. I believe that spirituality is very important as it pertains to family life. Growing up I dealt with ADHD. In an effort to help me manage my ADHD symptoms such as impulse control and mood, my mom introduced some spiritual practices like meditation and breathing techniques which proved to be helpful. I took these tools with me into adulthood. When she started practicing Reiki I saw how impactful it was in a way that was different and more meaningful than just day to day interactions with people. I’ve always known that I had a purpose as a leader spiritually, but Reiki training just solidified that belief. When my partner was pregnant with our 1st child my interest in spirituality was peaked, I started reading the Bible, reading about Hinduism etc. Once I started practicing Reiki it resonated with me more than any other spiritual practice. Not that other religions or practices are incorrect, I was just able to connect very deeply with Reiki. Living in a world that doesn’t encourage loving everyone, Reiki encompasses and teaches that concept fully. My goal with Reiki is to spread source energy of love, understanding, healing and abundance, God energy, a desire to see everyone become their higher self. For me Reiki is the best way to get there. I want people to know that they don’t necessarily have to seek out a master practitioner to feel Reiki. They get it from their ancestors. They can do Reiki on their future, manifest things for their highest good and watch them come to fruition.

I was born and raised in North Minneapolis. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1996 with a degree in Social Work and shortly thereafter began my decade long career as a social worker. In 2001 I began taking Feng Shui consultant classes. As with a lot of us, life happened and I never finished the courses but used its principles going forward in my journey. My second career in financial services began in 2006 and that’s where I’ve been ever since.
Fast forward to 2017. My Reiki adventure began after returning from a Tao Meditation Retreat in Sedona, Arizona in January of 2017. My older kids were close to leaving home and I was thinking about what I wanted to do next with my life. It had always been my desire to return to social services but I wasn’t certain what area. The retreat had rekindled my interest in Feng Shui and the concept that everything is energy. As I started researching and contemplating my next move, Reiki came to me with a clarity I haven’t experienced in many many years. A few days later I signed up for classes and started my new path in healing!
And as the Universe often does these classes happened right on time because before I could even take my Reiki Level I, my middle child was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis. They were only 17 years old at the time and a senior in high school. It was devastating. But with the help of regular Reiki treatments that I was learning, along with traditional medical therapies like chemotherapy, they were able to get their Lupus under control. They surpassed every milestone their doctors had set out and reached remission after only 5 months. We are convinced that Reiki was a major part of their healing. So in essence my precious child was my 1st client and success story! This is why our family believes so strongly in the power of Reiki!
We have now run a small Reiki practice out of our homes and in the community for seven years. As the business grew my hearts desire was to bring Reiki healing back to my home town, North Minneapolis. We are so honored to have offered Donation Based Reiki at The Zen Bin for a year and have some collaborations and offerings in the works that will keep us in community, our favorite place to be!
